Jonathan, not behind insurgency – First Lady

First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan said yesterday that the Federal Government is committed to ending insurgency in the country. She noted that President Goodluck Jonathan was not fueling the activities of the Islamist sect as it was being speculated.
Speaking in Sokoto at Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) women wing of  Goodluck Jonathan/ Namadi Sambo campaign rally, Mrs Jonathan said Boko Haram existed before the coming of the Jonathan administration.

The President’s wife, who was represented by the Minister for Women Affairs,Hajiya Zainab Maina, said: “We are succeeding in the ongoing war against Boko Hakam. There is no way Jonathan will sponsor Boko Haram.”  According to her, the PDP has brought a lot of changes in the country.
In her remarks, wife of the state PDP  Chairman, Hajiya Sadiya Ibrahim Milgoma, solicited for the support of all women towards Jonathan’s re-election.
According to her, PDP is the only party that cares for the welfare of Nigerians. “Our hope is for the PDP to return and continue with its Transformation Agenda,” she noted.
Also speaking, the PDP Women Mobilisation Officer, Hajiya Rabi Muhammad Jibo, Women Leader, Hajiya Rabi Giyawa, as well as wife of the governorship candidate, Hajiya Aisha Abdallah Wali, who emphasized on the need for women to support PDP through their votes in forthcoming general elections.
