Governorship candidates of all registered political parties in Imo State, except Governor Rochas Okorocha, yesterday honoured the invitation of Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, in the state for an interactive session at All Saints Anglican Cathedral, Egbu.

Flagging off the discussion, the Anglican Bishop of Okigwe South, Rt. Rev. David O.C. Onuoha, who also chaired the event, admonished candidates, not to overheat the polity, as whosoever was not lucky this time, should look forward to 2019.
“Any candidate that fails to clinch the governorship seat this time, should look forward to 2019. We can only have one governor at a time.
“We look forward to seeing a situation when other candidates will gladly congratulate the successful candidate,” Bishop Onuoha pleaded.
He appealed to the contestants to implored their supporters not to destroy other contestants’ posters and billboards, stressing that the stories flying in the state were very disturbing.
Addressing the congregation, the governorship candidate of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Chief Emeka Ihedioha, said his attitude and thinking were people-oriented, promising that if elected, his interest would be youth empowerment.
Captain Emmanuel Ihenacho of All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, decried what he termed the misgovernance going on in the state, promising that comatose industries will come back to life.
Vanguard recalls that the theme of the interactive session was “Let God choose through his people, who governs Imo State”, while one of the highlights of the event was the denouncing of membership of secret cults by all the candidates present.
